Copper Mountain Resort has been actively engaging with the local community through its Play Forever initiatives, aiming to expand access to the mountain and invest in community causes. During the 2023-24 winter season, the resort generated $245,000 in financial support through various programs and provided over 775 lesson opportunities for more than 260 students.
Play Forever Thursdays
One of the standout programs, Play Forever Thursdays, offered $99 lift tickets on select Thursdays, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting non-profit partners focused on local relief, environmental protection, and enabling on-mountain participation. Over 15 Thursdays, the resort supported 21 partners, raising over $150,000 this season alone. Since its inception in 2020, this program has contributed over $650,000 to community efforts.
Lake County Community Fund Partnership
In its fifth year, Copper Mountain continued its partnership with the Lake County Community Fund, making significant strides through their endowment campaign, the Campaign for Lake County. This collaboration underscores the resort’s commitment to supporting local causes and fostering community development.
Summer Giving Programs
Looking ahead, Copper Mountain plans to extend its community support through the Play Forever Summer Giving program. Donations generated from summer activity pass sales will benefit the Children’s Hospital Colorado Foundation in July and Smart Bellies in August. Community members and visitors can participate by purchasing summer activity passes, contributing to these meaningful causes.
Through these initiatives, Copper Mountain Resort demonstrates a strong commitment to community engagement, environmental stewardship, and expanding access to mountain activities for all.
